If you're like me, summer is a fun time to relax! But sometimes, even with the best intentions, we end up relaxing too much and not getting anything productive done... and then at the end of the summer we say something like, "Whoa, where did summer go? I have nothing to show for the summer...", and then we feel sad. Let's make sure that doesn't happen this summer by creating an awesome list of summer ideas!
- Go exercise - swim, run, ride a bike, whatever you'd like! Just make sure to drink lots of water.
- Read a book - pick a fun series and sit inside with a cool glass of lemonade.
- Watch a movie as a family - pull out a Disney classic and pop some popcorn.
- Visit grandparents - draw them a picture or ask them to tell you a story from their childhood.
- Write a story - make up some funny characters and tell a story. Be sure to draw pictures!
- Put on a play - dress up in costumes and then enjoy some brownies afterward.
- Write in your journal - write about your last birthday, your favorite things, or all the cool things you're doing this summer. Be sure to write the date at the top.
- Color - pull out some colored pencils or crayons and color a picture. You could hang it on the fridge afterward or give it to your parents.
- Bake some cookies - you can have them for an FHE treat or give them to the neighbors. Make sure you get help from an adult.
- Play outside - play tag, jumprope, hopscotch, get some friends together to play sports, or play with a puppy. Put on some sunscreen first!
- Eat icecream - Go to the store to buy some toppings if you want. I love Magic Shell on top!
- Eat a popsicle or otter pop.
- Go stargazing a night - see if you can find the constellations.
- Plan a camping trip - make sure to make s'mores!
- Build a fort - if it's a really hot day outside, build a fort with pillows, chairs, and a blanket and watch a movie inside.
- Serve someone - you can make a treat for a friend, visit someone who is lonely, or mail a card.
- Learn something new - it could be a new hobby or fun facts about animals or other countries. It could be anything!
- Clean - clean up your room and give away old toys and clothes that don't fit anymore. Have your parents help you donate them to a thrift store, like DI.
- Go thrift shopping - I love finding cool trinkets at thrift stores. You can give something away and then find something new to enjoy!
- Go have a picnic - make some sandwiches, grab some juice boxes, and take some snacks like grapes or chips and have a picnic at the park.
