Hey readers!
This week I have been studying the creation of the world in my religion
class. This is a topic that always fascinates me and is one that is
well-known among the Christian world. As we learn in Genesis 1:26, “And
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” I love this verse because it teaches us that
we are literally spiritual offspring of our Heavenly parents and that we are created
in the image of God. This is a term we
hear often in the Church, but this week I gained a new perspective on it. My religion professor explained that in the Bible,
Elohim refers to God as Gods, or in a
plural sense. So, we can read this verse
as, “And [the Gods] said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” This reads significantly differently and teaches
a possible truth, even that the image of God is both man and woman together,
and that Heavenly Mother may have helped in the creation! This is a beautiful concept and is one that is important to us because as spiritual offspring of heavenly parents, we have the
potential to one day become as they are.
Please know you are a beloved child of heavenly parents, and your worth
is great and your potential endless.
Hope you are having a great week,
Brianna
